Why use Teaching to Diversity:
In implementing the programs as outlined in the text, the academic outcomes of students with special needs increase as compared to non-inclusive classrooms. The program has proved to increase literacy, language development, attendance and general knowledge for all learners. The social outcomes increase in prosocial behaviours, problem solving skills, greater social connections, friendships, cooperative skills and leadership.
Who can benefit from the resource?
This resource can be used in all classrooms (K-12) and in all subject areas. This is an independent resource that could be used in a classroom, a division and school or ideally throughout the entire board.
